Doctors

Cassi K. Pettyjohn, B.S., D.V.M.

Veterinarian/Practice Owner

Dr. Cassi Pettyjohn grew up in a small town in Southwest Kansas. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and in 2006 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

After graduation, Dr. Pettyjohn pursued a career in equine medicine, which took her to the great states of Iowa, Virginia, and Texas. After moving to the Houston area, Dr. Pettyjohn began to specialize in small animal medicine. Her special interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and dentistry.

She is married with 2 children, two miniature Australian Shepherds (Ankiel and Molina), one cat (Pudge) —all her animals are named after Major League Baseball Players. She enjoys spending time with her family and helping her husband around the farm.

Mandy Hall, D.V.M., M.P.H.

Veterinarian

Dr. Hall grew up in Magnolia, TX, and couldn’t wait to come back to south Texas after veterinary school! She received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2009 from St. Edward’s University in Austin with the hope of being a journalist, but decided soon after how much she loved veterinary medicine. She graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree as well as a Master’s of Public Health degree from Oklahoma State University in May 2016.

Her special interests include clinical pathology, parasitology, and neurologic disease. She is also highly experienced with zoonotic and foreign animal disease through her public health background.

Dr. Hall is married to Trevor Hall, another Houston native, and they have two beautiful fur-children: Perry and Bruce Banner. She and her husband enjoy going to see live music and theatre, especially local artists, and like any good Texan, they love to eat.

Her goal with every patient visit is that every client leaves knowing something new about pet care.

Dr. Hall’s philosophy is to treat others how you want to be treated.

Laura Kitten, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Kitten grew up in Lubbock, TX (Wreck ‘Em Tech!). She received her Bachelor of Arts with a Pre-Veterinary Specialization in 2012, and then worked as a Veterinary Technician for a year with a prominent Equine Surgeon in Lamesa, TX. At first, Dr. Kitten thought she wanted to work on horses but realized her love for small animal medicine in veterinary school at Texas A&M, where she graduated in 2017. Dr. Kitten and her husband moved to the Montgomery area shortly after finishing school, where her husband works as a fireman.

Since entering the field, Dr. Kitten has developed a passion for Dermatology, Endocrinology, and Cardiology. She also has a strong background in preventive care, as well as basic dentistry.

Dr. Kitten is married to Stephen Kitten, her high school sweetheart. The two have a Doberman named Ari and German Shorthaired Pointer named Gage. Dr. Kitten and her husband enjoy horseback riding, snow and water skiing, kayaking, and almost anything outdoors.

Care Team

Trenton

Starting out in Huntsville, Trenton raised heifers, goats, lambs, and chickens. Helping to deliver her first calf at 5 years old she grew to love the industry very quickly. At age 12 she moved into the Bryan school district, where she then got involved in FFA. Alongside showing Beef Master Heifers she also competed in LDEs, such as Agricultural Issues Forum. Graduating from Rudder High school in 2015 she then went to Stephenville, Tx to study Animal Science at Tarleton State University. After spending a year at TSU, she then transferred to Sam Houston State University to finish out her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a minor in Biology. She will be graduating in May 2019! She has one cat named Goose, and boy does he have a personality. She enjoys traveling with her boyfriend Justin, especially when they’re places they’ve never been to before. When she is not planning an adventure, she spends lots of time crafting and completing various projects.

Care Team

We hold ourselves to a higher standard. That is why every member of our staff is required to earn their Certified Veterinary Assistant credentials after three months of employment, an uncommon but important commitment to excellence in patient care. We don’t stop there… we are also proud of our PennHIP certification and other team accolades and accomplishments.
