Digital X-Rays

Radiography, commonly referred to as x-rays, is widely used in veterinary medicine. It offers both speed and lower cost when diagnosing illness or injury in pets. At Stone Ridge Veterinary Medical Center, we offer patients the latest in x-ray technology with digital radiographs. Digital technology provides clear images displayed on a monitor allowing practitioners to view more detail and varying angles. In advanced cases, digital radiographs allow us to consult via telemedicine with experts to confirm diagnosis and treatment options.

Pet Ultrasound

Ultrasonography is a valuable diagnostic tool that greatly assists in your pet’s veterinary care. An abundant amount of information is obtained about your pet’s health in a very short amount of time. Ultrasound utilizes high-frequency sound waves, which are transmitted via a device called a transducer to look inside of the body. The echoes are recorded and transformed into video or photographic images.
Ultrasonography is a noninvasive, advanced technology that allows us to examine specific soft tissues and organs including:
  • Liver
  • Kidneys
  • Intestine
  • Spleen
  • Pancreas
  • Urinary bladder
  • Heart
Benefits of Veterinary Ultrasound
The benefits of ultrasound are extensive such as:
  • Provides important diagnostic information, not gained through other testing methods (blood, urine, or physical examinations)
  • Noninvasive and completely painless for your pet
  • May eliminate the need for exploratory surgeries
  • Can assist biopsies, allowing for image-guided procedures and the more precise collection of cell or tissue samples

Pet Echocardiogram

A veterinary echocardiogram is a specialized ultrasound procedure to evaluate your pet’s heart. It allows us to evaluate the structure of the heart and its function. We recommend that patients with any heart disease (murmur or arrhythmia) have an echocardiogram annually to evaluate for progression of their heart disease.
